In order to improve convenience for UAE inhabitants, the United Arab Emirates proudly announces the provision of online court and notary public services. Due to the convenience and speed of these digital services, you no longer need to take time away from your regular activities to handle your legal obligations.

The UAE courts ruled that starting in April 2020, legal proceedings might be conducted online as the world struggled with COVID-19. As part of this adjustment to contemporary conditions and remote technology, remote notary public services were introduced, enabling people to conduct their transactions without physically appearing before a notary public, as was previously required.

Both corporate enterprises and private individuals thrilled that their transactions could resume because it prevented them from suffering losses. Since notary public offices were required to certify legal documents before they could be considered official, they were among the places that were most often visited.

You can now use video conferencing to create a Power of Attorney (POA) and appoint someone in the UAE. You can now give POA authority to your lawyer, a relative, or a friend from anywhere, whether you’re in the United Arab Emirates or abroad. All that is required is for the person participating via webcam to display their identification card so they can be recognized by a representative.

A POA is what?

An individual (the principal) may delegate the legal responsibility to another person (the Agent) through the use of a power of attorney. Given the gravity of such obligation, it must be created and validated by a notary public office as part of the legal system that ensures the validity of documents used in commercial or legal transactions. When discussing POAs, there are basically two types:

The title of a General Power of Attorney clearly indicates that it gives its Agent broad authority. This kind of POA allows the Agent to make any choice or take any action in place of the Principal and is frequently required in the following situations:

invest in, purchase, rent out, manage, and give as a gift real estate.

effectively represent the principal before governmental organizations, ministries, and suppliers of communications and utility services.

  • Make legal entities corporate.
  • purchase stock in corporations.
  • Sign agreements and other paperwork.
  • Purchase automobiles.
  • Provide legal advice as a representative of the principle, and hire lawyers to address any legal issues.

A Special Power of Attorney (also known as a Specific POA) gives the Agent the exclusive right to carry out the tasks listed in it. For the following transactions, a Special POA is necessary:

  1. Importance of inheritance.
  2. conflict about property.
  3. selling a piece of real estate.
  4. selling stock in legal entities.
  5. sale of automobiles.

Permission to travel with someone other than their legal guardian as a juvenile (under the age of 21).

Permission from a parent or guardian is required for marriage.

The UAE has been a leader in reacting to the effects of the epidemic, effectively developing strategies and techniques that maintain normalcy as much as possible. The UAE government quickly handled court procedures and public/private notary services, facilitating the seamless functioning of corporate transactions and legal processes.
